....usually get granted? Like if u come from the united states to visit canada for 6 months. And apply for a 6 month extension are they usually granted? If not than what can be done to ensure the 6 month stay is granted?
There really isn't a solid answer to provide...it really depends on your situation and what you provide. Each person is different. Do your best to provide the proof requested on the application to satisfy the officer that you would leave at the end of your stay and that you have strong ties to the usa and hope for the best. Some get approved and some don't.

Which part didn't I understand? You entered as a US citizen, (assuming that's what you mean from entering from US) you will usually be grant 6 months of visitor status. So if you are grant for 6 months (i.e. in most cases, when they do not stamp you passport, it's default 6 months), then you apply for extension 30 days before you 6 months is up.
HOWEVER, there is NO way to guarantee it. Both the initial entry nor the extension.
Yes and my answer remains the same. It's the same as if you are entering for the first time. You still have to satisfy the officer....this time on paper.

So they ask u to provide the same paperwork all over again? Even though they have already seen it? I thought people just said stuff like still looking to explore Canada, paid a fee and thats it!

If you have a valid reason and proof of funds, an extension would probably be granted. Without specific circumstances, no one can really comment beyond that.
