Hello,
I received my CoPR and visa in the beginning of 2018, with the CoPR deadline of Oct. 27, 2018 and i recently got married and my spouse is a US citizen. I added my spouse to my CoPR.and we both landed in Canada about 3-4 months ago. We received our Permanent Resident card but now me and my spouse are having problems in our relationship and it does not look like we will last longer in our relationship.
- Suppose if we get divorced within 6-8 months of getting our PR card, then will it affect my status as a Permanent Resident in this case, since i am the sponsor of my spouse?
- What are the legal consequences i might face because of this and how early can i divorce my spouse without having any effect on my immigration status?
It will be very helpful if i can get some advice on this.
Thank you!
