Do we need to fill the Form B4 to disclose the general goods, such as clothes, shoes, bags, jewellery, kitchen wares etc, that we are taking to Canada?

Also we need to confirm if we need to disclose the funds we are taking to Canada. My husband and I are each taking CAD 7,000 to make a total of CAD 14,000. The government of Canada asks us to disclose CAD above 10,000 moving in or out to be disclosed. However we are individually taking CAD 7,000 only. Or do they calculate it as the total sums we are bringing? In either case, do we need to fill the Form e677? or we just need to make a list of the goods?

Thanks

All you need to know about landing in Canada....:

For me I will list them in my B4 with jewelry valuation report.

Hi,

Each person has to declare if they carry above CAD 10,000/-. But there is nothing wrong and any adverse effect if you declare that you have altogether CAD 14,000/-

If you are bringing the personal items with you in your accompanied baggage, I would suggest no need to prepare B4 forms for that. You can tell at the counter to CBSA officer briefly what you are carrying. If you have considerably more jewelry than regular wear, it is good to keep few pictures in hand. If asked by CBSA you can show the pictures instead of removing from bag and displaying in front of others.

For funds, i second wilson.

For goods, i suggest prepare listing of all goods u r carrying along with goods to follow list. Probability of verification is low but u r in immigration process so do not take any chance. Custom can ask u for anything and rightful to do so. This is just a precautionary measure.

In my case, customs officer did not bother to look at what i was carrying. Just said hello and welcome to Canada but i had it ready in case demanded

gud luk
