I have got student visa but right now I want to know whether it's worth doing diploma from Sheridan although I have completed graduation in India. The reason for me to choose the diploma is because of co-op and it's of 2 years so I will get a 3 year PGWP. how is diploma valued compared to a graduate certificate? Also, I can still use my qualification from India when Applying for a job. I heard a lot of people in Canada do diploma after degree.. please help me out as my agent thinks diploma is a bad idea. I want the 3 year work permit and I cannot do 2 back to back courses because it will simply cost more money. I want to show acceptance letter of diploma at POE and get 2 year work permit.
Rahul...
if it has co-op then you can go ahead. But let me tell you its very hard to find job in Ontario.
you can put your Indian qualification in your resume but its not that much effective.
choosing diploma isn't bad choice. good luck brother.
Okay it does not have co-op but the thing is since I have animation and web design background from India I will use that to find a job in the multimedia industry. As you know multimedia industry does not care about degree or country where you studied because all they want is a good portfolio. So the diploma is something like an investment to get a PR. maybe if i do get a good job after finishing diploma then I can work.
I plan to complete my education in Toronto and then move to alberta for the whole duration of my 3 years PGWP to get PR. So I think my option would be Alberta PNP as well as CEC after 1 year. What do you think?

See Rahul.. I wont suggest you anything because sometimes it may change your mind. I don't have much idea about multimedia industry. If you have already planned to move to alberta then its great. But keep your eye open because you don't know when they will change their immigration rules. Its better to choose such province where you can study as well as work after finishing your course. Moving to different province and looking for job is slightly difficult because some employers wants to hire people who studied in their own province. rest all is up to you. but think twice or thrice before making any decision because this decision may be your life changing decision. good luck.
