Difference between tourist and visitor's visa

I want to apply for a visitor's visa to Canada to meet my parents who would be sponsoring me. I asked my company to provide me with an NOC. They wrote tourist visa in place of visitor's visa. Would that be a problem in getting the visa? Is there a difference between the two?
