Didn't submit letter of employment

Was letter of employment of father necessary? Even if he owns a business and works alone?
If i didn't submit then how will it affect study permit application?

Letter of employment is not required. If he intends to sponsor u , a letter of sponsorship and documents like Tax or bank details are required to showcase his financial capability.
