Did I get Visa Approved?

Hi everyone,

I applied for a study permit and my status says application has been approved, please check messages. But there are no messages. And if I scroll down, it says eTA approved. What does that mean?

My story is that I also applied for a TRP because of a speeding ticket. I linked my paper application to an online account and I am able to see the study permit case number.

I appreciate any fast response since I am going crazy here. Thank you!!

You don't require a visa if you are from these countries-- https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio.../visit-canada/entry-requirements-country.html . If you aren't from these countries, then you might either wait or can ask someone directly by email and see if they can help you with anything. Hope it helps.

Yep. I’m from Germany so I don’t need a visa. Just confused because it says eTa approved. But I thought i wasn’t allonwed to get one because of being criminally inadmissible (that’s why TRP application).

As far as I can get is that you cannot enter Canada (as a visitor) if you are criminally inadmissible but you might be granted a TRP if you meet the minimum requirements. If you do have time then I think you should wait for final confirmation but if you are running out of it then you can contact the services via their forum-- http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp .

Yep. I think I just wIt for my lawyer to confirm. I applied for a TRP and study permit at the same time, so I don’t think i would have gotten the permit without an approved trp since i wouldn’t meet requirements.

Anna, you got it lo. ETA is issued only when the study permit application is approved.
