Hi,

I am a U.S. citizen that has a job offer from a Canadian company. They are also located in the U.S and currently I am also working from their U.S. HQ.
This company has an approved LMIA with Service Canada.

Their outside counsel is advising against creating an application for a Temporary Work Permit for British Columbia because I have not matriculated in any post-secondary education. However, I have completed ~ 1 year of community college while in high school and some after wards 2004-2006. I have also been consistently working in my field since 2007 and in large companies like Google, LinkedIn, Uber, etc.

I am wondering if there is a chance that with a well worded LoE explaining that matriculating in a program this late into my career will have no affect on my employability with a Canadian employer or really any employer in most countries, will turn my chances from "virtually impossible" to at least? My glimmer of hope here is that the requirements for the NOC code do not seem to be set in stone here, notice the wording says "usually," so there must be some cases where it is not necessarily required. Along the same lines, are there any streams that might make this easier. Is there anything else I can add? Will bringing an LoE even help when crossing over the border?
Potentially helpful, I also have some Cisco and Microsoft professional certifications from earlier in my career.

I am planning on crossing over land. I have also over several years visited consistently from 2007-2011 I crossed the land border regularly ~ 2-4 times a month (if relevant?)

"Completion of a college program in computer science is usually required."

Thank you!
