Destitiute student Work Permit

Please I am an international student currently in Canada but due to financial issues back at home I had to defer but found out I cant work unless i enroll or have a destitute student work permit. How do I apply for it because I am currently stranded and making ends meet is impossible

If you have not been able to work out a payment plan with your school, you can apply for an open work permit. You will have to prove that you are unable to afford your studies. When does your permit expire? It is only a short term option.
