You must receive AOR first. That will likely take 1-3 months

Please post in asylum section. Sponsorship for dependents is different if you are a protected person.

Application submitted April 24 2023. Child under 18 years, no other applicants. Sponsor is PR and child living in other country with PR parent. There is no country specific requirements and and also visa-exempt country. Also child was already PR before, but we renounce the status as she did not met the residency requirements and now applied PR again.

I tried to find estimates of processing times, and I found anything between 2 - 9 months. Any better idea what it could be?

In my case my kids medical exams has been uploaded in Feb but no updates after that.
IRCC has mentioned that fingerprints, additional documents or background check not required. Not able to understand the reason for delay.

Whichever forms require signature by the 'applicant' will have to be signed by the parent/guardian on behalf of a minor child. (Note, check instructions about age, I believe some may be signed by children over 14 or something - but again - instrusctions.

Thanks for opening up this thread. Minor under 18. Case submitted online on Mar. 24, 2023. No AOR yet.

It's been two months for my case and still no AOR yet. Just curious - is the AOR only coming in through email? Any updates from the group on this thread?
