Good evening, need some help am applying for common law( canada class). I have a dependant child i take care of, shes an ophane and stays in my country of origin ( africa) am adopting her but the adoption process is not yet final its a long process, so wondering if i can mention in the application that shes my dependant child ( adopted) thou dont have the adoption certificate yet or she doesnt qualify to be my dependant child yet.
2.Common law checklist, supporting documents.
2. CIVIL STATUS DOCUMENTS.
Any documents formal documents supporting common law relationship e.g Cohabitation agreement, Documents showing common law registration, formally entered into a registered domestic partnership. How can one get these legal documents can we see.a lawyer and we make an agreement.
3. Documentary evidence of finacial support between you and sponser, can i attach some of money transfer ( western union) from before i moved to canada or every the documents have to be from when i moved to canada
Thank you all
You will need to provide the proof of adoption if you list her as your dependent child. You have to be very careful here - if the adoption paperwork processes before you come to Canada, you have to have IRCC add her to the file before you can come or you will never be allowed to sponsor her.
Is this child related to you? If so do you have death certificate from both the parents? Have you checked to see if adoptions from your home country are recognized in Canada.
You can't add the child as a dependent until she is legally your dependent.

Read your previous posts. It is your neice so there may be complications if you can't show her father has died. It also seems like you have been living in Canada without her who is taking care of her and how long was she in your care? What is the child's citizenship?

The good news is adoptions from Uganda are permitted. How long have you been playing the mother-role in person since your sister passed away? Has your other sister or anyone else also been also playing the mother role with you.
You will need to adopt and then apply to sponsor. It is unfortunate that there is no death certificate for the father. Canada is very careful to make sure that they aren't supporting asoptions of convenience. I would imagine that an interview may be requested.

Did her mother pass away since she was 1? Is the father known or on the birth certificate? Canada usually wants to know both parents are deceased before approving sponsorship.
