To study after filing your asylum claim you were required to get a study permit. Unfortunately your college didn’t realize you no longer had a valid study permit and allowed you to keep studying. I assume they didn’t realize you claimed asylum which made your study permit invalid. You needed to apply for another study permit to continue studying legally after the asylum claim. Not everyone gets approved for a study permit after an asylum claim.
