My partner and me applied for a Post graduation work permit the past 20th of May, and on July 27th I received mine and my partner didn’t.
So she made a phone call to the call centre and the guy told her that maybe it was lost in the mail and she waited another week after asking in the mail if there was something there, then she called on august 6th and the lady there told her that her permit was denied and the reason was she was part time during her studies, even though we were told that 2 years of part time equal one year full time and that qualifies for the PGWP.
Right now her study permit expired on July 30th and she hasn’t received any kind of letter.
The advisor said to simply apply for an extension of her stay and declare us common law partner since I do have one, but could that make me surrender my work permit???

1. CIC is correct, if you had read the instructions for PGWP, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-postgrad-who.asp you would see that the study had to be full time.
2. If you are common/law she is still not going to get a Work Permit without an LMO as there are no SOWP for spouses of PGWP holders. That is because a PGWP is not restricted to NOC A, B or O.
3. You can keep your work permit, but she is going to have to apply for reinstatement as a visitor.
and what about the issue that so far she hasn't received any kind of document from immigration, we are taking this actions because the person on the call centre told her. should she call again??? or wait?? has been almost 3 months since she sent the application, in 5 days it will be 3 months.
