I'll be importing my vehicle from the US into Canada.

So I know new residents in Ontario are required to get their vehicle registered within 30 days. However, what if I stop driving the car on the 30th day, and get it registered on the 50th day. Are there any severe penalties associated with this?

Basically I'm at the threshold of being able to get a full driver's licence in Ontario, but if I register the car too early, I'll be stuck with one of the limited licences.
