I applied for my PR in the month of October 2017. Its been 8 months now and there is no news at all. I check the CIC website on a daily basis and I get to see that my application is still being reviewed only. I am not getting any reply from CIC through the online query form that is available int he CIC website. I am quite concerned about this. Can anyone please help me understand if it is a normal scenario or an abnormal one?

I am not sure on which Visa Office is processing my file. But on call, an automated voice updated me the status of my application which I was able to see in my CIC login. CIC has a webform which I have written 4 times, but I haven't received a proper reply for my query.

Why cant u call them ? Google their number and call. You will be on hold for maybe 1 hour or less but an agent will connect with you and tell you what’s happening to your file.
I called +16139444000 on 12th June 2018. I was guided by automated voice, and towards the end when I opted to speak to an agent, the connection hung up saying all the agents are busy.

On March 08, 2018, I received a mail in CIC on the topic, "How to find a job in Canada". The first line read, "Congratulations. You are now a candidate for immigration to Canada". This was the only communication I received after I submitted my application in October 2017. And yes, I have paid the full fees on 1040 CAD at the time of applying itself.

Not to worry. CIC has stopped responding to queries. Best would be to order GCMS notes.
We too ordered them in the 10th month and by 11th month we received the notes as well as a medical redo request. We received our PPR email a few days before completing 12months.
You may be in security screening. We were in it and had been in IP2 right from August 2nd,2017 until May 15th 2018.
Some of the June 2017applicants are still getting their PPR while some of the May 2017 ones are still waiting for it.
