Defer course for Sept 18 intake although it is also available for Jan 18 intake

Hey everyone,

I need some expert advice. I got study permit for Sept 2017 intake and it is valid till March 2019. My course is available for Sept and Jan intake only. Due to a personal reason i won't be able to attend Sept 2017 session.

Is it possible if i defer my course for Sept 2018 session(Please note that Jan 2018 session is also available) and use my existing visa(issued for Sept 2017 session).

Please help.

Did you read the new rules yet? Once you take an unofficial drop you no longer qualify for work permit application. Things have changed please read the new guidelines first before you take a drop.

Thank you for your reply Navprateek. I did not find any guideline related to course deferral. Could you please share the link. Also, if i defer for Jan18 intake then too it will be problematic?

Anyone please help me. Is there any change in the deferral rule?

If a defer my intake from sept17 to jan 18 due to personal reason then will it be a problem?

Do I need to notify IRCC through web form request for deferral?

Please reply is someone has faced the similar situation or if anyone has any idea.
