Greetings all
I am in a dilemna since I cant really find any definitive answers. My situation is that I have a savings account in one bank since 2013 that has well above the required amount by the IRCC. I also have a current salary account and a credit card from another bank. Now I dont mind declaring the credit card the limit of the credit card is covered by well covered by my savings but do I need to declare also the account information of this second bank account.
Note: I will be submitting bank statements from this second account as a proof of my salary deposit as the salary info isnt mentioned in my reference letter.
So in conclusion do i need to get the letter from the bank with account opened, avg 6 months amount, etc from the second bank or will a letter including my credit card debt suffice?
Please i am close to applying so urgent help is needed
If your account shows repayments for the credit card then you must declare the credit card liabilities. You will need the actual statement for 6
Hey, I dont mind declaring the credit card and I will declare it already have the liability letter from the bank, my question is do I need to get a letter with other information required like account open date, etc
Those details are really not necessary but could help you in the event of additional documents request. What is key is that the statement must have an address (contact email and physical address), that is the most important information the statement should show.
Yes it will include it thank you
From other threads I have read in the past, the consensus seems to be that you only need the most recent credit card statement, not the last 6 months.
Off topic, but the wording of the application asks for evidence from all institutions where you "hold money". I would argue that you don't actually hold money with a credit card. Rather you owe money.

Thank you mate, actually my problem is not with declaring the credit card as i said i dont mind it and paying it full wont affect my POF amount at all. But my worries arise from the information on the bank account, i opened this account 5 months after i started working so what I am worried about is that IRCC will take this as strange as i am claiming my worknexperience from nov. 2016 but my bank account (salary account is in march) this is what worries me (fyi my first 4 months salaries were paid in cheque as i didnt have an account yet by that time)

You only need to show account with sufficient funds. You do not need to show credit card balances or statements.

Thanks man, but what if I want to declare my bank statements of the current account as a salary proof, the bank statements has my account number and my name with bank stamp but no letterhead
My husband and I both showed accounts only where our PoF was. We were making payments for credit cards from these accounts but we didn’t share our credit card statements. Didn’t face any issues. Our PoF was in Fixed Deposits connected to the accounts but separate from funds in the accounts.

It’s up to you to declare the bank accounts you want to. If the bank is willing to give you a letter in addition to the statement, you can have the account opening date mentioned on the letter.
You can also submit your appointment/offer letter and any salary increment letters from your company to show your salary info.
