Generally, yes -

I just did landing on 3rd Jan. 2012 And I checked my Ecas right now, I am sure I typed in the exact right Client ID as before every time. But there is nothing showing up just like I didn't apply for CEC at all. Last update I saw was they received my Medical Results. Anybody has same situation like me?

Hey, did my landing yesterday. Everything was good! just a little bit of wait as it was holiday and break. I can still see my ecas and even my adddress is back.

I forgot to ask him around what time my PR will eb arriving? Apart from that everything is good! But i would guess that he had already started the application for my PR and I will recieve it in one month or 2 months time?

Any thoughts?

Congrats! Within 1.5 month to 2 month, we should get our PR card.

oh you live in sask that's why you are not aware of that! it's ontario health insurance provided by government to canadian residents and citizens. They would have that for sask too but the agency name would be different.

Hey

Can I ask you a question?

So I'm also having sin number as well as OHIP card. Before it expires, if I get PR, I can just extend my ohip card and renew my sin number? That's it?

Is there any waiting time for OHIP?

No waiting time, OHIP will be done immediately and a paper will be given to you, which can be used till we get the cards

No wait my friend! I am in Ottawa, went to city hall. Got my OHIP and SIN done in half an hour. They changed my SIN(which is standard) and My Ohip last letters too. So, I will recieve the new cards shortly.

SOrry I think i didn't really answer your question. Yes, you can extend your OHIP and they will change the last two (english letters) of your OHIP number. And you will get an entirely new SIN. But these two cards you already have in your possession will be valid until your work permit is valid. As soon as you get the PR you can get this done and they will eb activated right away. And you just have to wait for the palstic cards. So, basically yeah it is kind of an extension or precisely a renewal to your OHIP.
