My Canadian husband and I were planning to move from the USA to Canada in 2024 to be close to his parents and siblings. Sadly, he died 3 weeks ago. My in-laws want me to move to Ontario to be with them. How do I go about doing this? My brother-in-law has agreed to be my sponsor.

He can't sponsor you.
@Flyingfast has answered your question quickly and correctly, with an impressive economy of language.
I would add that the negative response there does not render your situation hopeless. There are other pathways, such as Express Entry, perhaps available. But Canada (like the U.S.) does not allow just anyone to "sponsor" just anyone else.

My condolences for your husband's passing.
Unfortunately your brother in law cannot sponsor you.
You would need to find a way to qualify and be selected on your own through an economic immigration program. I would recommend that you start by researching the Express Entry program. This is a points-based program and you would want to score around 500 to have a good chance of being selected:

My condolences as well. How old are you? Do you have any Canadian children and how old are they?
