Dear Leon, Need your advice on health card and not meeting residency requirement

Hi Leon,

Need your advise on my return to Canada. I landed in 2010 stayed for two weeks and left again. I am going back after 3 years and 6 month .....if I dont get reported on airport my quesion is can I apply for health care card ? my PR card is valid until 2015 ,,,,Is there any risk in applying health card even not meeting residency requirement ? I will be in BC Vancouver and after 90 days I am thinking to apply for health card.

There is no problem applying for health care with a valid PR card. You should not wait 90 days. BC gives you health care after 2 months plus the balance of the 3rd so if you arrive at the end of a month, 2 months.
