Date of Citizenship??

I had applied for Canadian Citizenship in 2006 and my child was born outside Canada in 2007. I took Canadian citizenship oath and passport in 2008 . My Certificate of Citizenship photo card has date 07/2006 whereas an accompanying letter has effective date of citizenship as 15/06/2008 date.
1. Which is correct date? Does my citizenship begin from date mentioned in photo card or the accompanying letter.
2. Would I be considered a Canadian Citizen at time of birth of my child if date on photo card is before the birth of child.
3. What is the correct way of applying for PR/ Citizenship for my child?
