Hi All,
Need help for below situation -
My husband and Me both are on closed work permit. My closed work permit is till November 2021 and My husband's closed work permit is till March 2020. How can my husband stay after March 2020 based on my closed work permit? Can he apply open work permit while staying in Canada before his cwp expires? Can he apply TRV while staying in Canada before his cwp expires?

Do you hold a NOC A, B or 0 job?
Yes I do, both of us have NOC A job.
Yes I do, both of us have NOC A job.
Then your spouse can can apply for a spousal open work permit.
Thanks, could you pls describe the process,
1)I'm confused, spouse can apply for OWP while his CWP is still active?
2)What will be the start date of OWP, will it be the next day when CWP expires?
3) Spouse will need to apply TRV first or he can directly apply for OWP as his TRV also expiring on same date when CWP expires?
4) what should be mode of application for OWP, online or doing a flagpole?

1. Yes, he must apply before his current permit expires.
2. The start date will be whenever it is approved.
3. Work permit first. Once it's approved, then apply for a new TRV.
4. Just apply online.
Thanks very much for your guidance!! It's really helpful!!
