Currently on contract to Canadian company

I am currently doing contract work for a Canadian company. In order to fulfill the terms of that contract, I need to be onsite for approximately 1 year, as this is a big project. What would be my best option to make this happen? Thank you.

You need to obtain a temporary work permit. To qualify for the temporary work permit, your employer in Canada needs to obtain an approved LMIA. So first step is for your employer to go through the LMIA process. This is generally a multi-month process so they should start soon.
