Currently in Canada with Eta and waiting for a visitor record response. Can she leave Canada and come back?

Hi, my niece (a minor, I am her legal guardian Canadian citizen) came to Canada in Aug 2021 with eTA as she has an Europian passport. I applied for a visitor record in her behave prior the 6 months expiration of her stay and we have not received a response yet. Can we travel to the US for a week and come back? Can she go back for a month to her home country and come back? if we still don't have a response on her visitor record

Once she leaves, the extension is no longer valid. On her return she would be assessed as a new entry.

They can….whether they will or not is impossible to say. Generally they frown on people trying to obtain a new entry by visiting the US for short periods.
