Dear all,

My partner will be the principal applicant for EE and I am confused as to how to calculate our points in "CRS – C. Skill transferability factors" as defined on www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

He has a medical degree (MD) and he scored CLB 7 in IELTS. What is the maximum point he would get when he retakes the IELTS and scores CLB 9 in all four skills, 25 or 50?

Having graduated from a medical faculty I believe he is entitled to 126 points in CRS – A. Core / human capital factors / Level of Education.
(Master's degree, OR professional degree needed to practice in a licensed profession (For “professional degree,” the degree program must have been in: medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, optometry, law, chiropractic medicine, or pharmacy.)

But such distinction is not made in CRS - C. Skill transferability factors.
(Two or more post-secondary program credentials AND at least one of these credentials was issued on completion of a post-secondary program of three years or longer)

I however have two undergraduate degrees, and I believe I would score 119 in Level of Education and 50 in Skill transferability (since I have already scored CLB 10 on all language skills.

If the maximum score he would get will be 25 in CRS - C., he doesn't need to bother to take IELTS again, I guess.

We both have minimum 3 years of foreign work experience.

Thank you so much.

please refer to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

you can play around with the tool to see how many points you can get... regarding education - best to get a WES assessment done first before you make any assumptions on how many points you willget..

good luck
