So my husband was in Canada for almost two years and was always approved for an extended visit visa. He recently went back to the US in August but he wants to come back home with me next month. Of course, we are going to buy a "return" ticket but our biggest worry is what will happen at customs when he comes back. We don't want him to get denied re-entry. We are still waiting for his PR and are well over the 15 month mark. I have been supporting us since we filed our application. His ties with the US would be his son and the bank accounts he has as he is not working right now.
Any suggestions as to how we should go about this?
is he a US citizen? what I believe is, with an approved extention /Visitor Record he can always come back. Recently my mom went to US for five weeks and returned with her Visitor Record, immigration did not ask anything, although her visa was expired February this year. Hope this helps. Thx

if he is visa exempt, and he has a pr application in the system, they are not going to give him an issue getting in. they *may* limit the amount of his visit, or they may not. at the border, they will take his passport and check their system for his application status. it's pretty simple really, and a lot easier to cross with an application submitted than not.
