Criminal certificate expires within 30 days..... Question

All is ready to be sent, but i am still waiting on my tax assessment letter that shows i am up to date with a 0 balance. I paid it 2 weeks ago and CRA is sending me a letter.

My husband is worried because his criminal paper expires 30 days after he requested it, will we have to get a new one?? Our marriage liscence too, the stamp that apparently certifies is, is good for 30 days

Does this make sense and will it cause a problem if sent near its expiry date?

In the eyes of CIC, a PCC letter remains valid (indefinitely) as long as the letter was issued after the last time he lived in that country.

For a country where he currently lives, it must be issued within the last 6 months.

Can't comment on your marriage license question, but as long as CIC receives (anything that expires) before the expiry date, you're usually ok.

We are wondering if he should have applied for a simple visitor visa before doing this sponsor one
But now we seem to have everything for sponsor, we are asking ourselves if the visitor one is even worth it.
I always visited him. Not the other way around.

He is not in canada.... He is in his country until he gets his visa to come here.

while the paper may say the certificate is only valid for 30 days, CIC generally considers PCCs valid for 6 months from date of it being issued. generally, as long as it's received by cic within 6 months of issue date, it will be accepted. the validity date of the PCC will not affect the processing of the sponsor's file, and if they need a new one, the specific visa office will request it down the road. it's really nothing to be worried about at this point. make sure it's in your package and cross your fingers it's accepted.

Because I had no idea if he was in Canada, or not. You didn't tell us in your original post.

That's why I gave you information that would apply to him either way.

Hey guys, I'm also in the process of obtaining my wife's PCC, do I send it to the VO handling the case or do I send it to CIC here in Canada?
