Hi guys
I have a quick question. I resubmitted a request for my finger print and fbi clearance back on may 12th and was received at their office by may 16th. But till now they haven't charged my credit card yet. Does anyone know if they charge it at the end when they are done or at the beginning. I am starting to get worried that I wrote the wrong number on the sheet.
Thanks alot

It is towards the end. Basically people know they will get the FBI clearance letter soon when they see their credit card billed. That is because most of that 4-8 week wait is the application sitting in a pile until someone gets to it. When they finally get to it (and bill you), the procedure to run the check is fairly quick. Similar to CIC where your application spends most of its time sitting in a queue waiting for the case officer to get to it.
Oh thank you. On their website it says 26 days. Does that include weekends too?
I submitted mine on 30th Apr, got charged on 16th or 18th May & letter received 6 June (today).
It is good that you put in cc details for the charge. Ideally it would take 2 weeks to receive it outside US and 5-7 days within US postal address.
You can call and ask them which date application they are processing currently. Although they are usually nice, they tend to get irritated with repeated calls.
Hope this helps. Good Luck!!

Hey do you know which number to call. ? Thanks
extract from the fbi website
"Note: Although the FBI employs the most efficient methods for processing these requests, the processing time is currently 25 calendar days due to the volume of requests received, as well as past government status. Please allow additional time for mail delivery. We respectfully request that you refrain from calling to check on the status of your request prior to six weeks. For assistance, contact the Customer Service Group at (304) 625-5590."

I just checked my credit card statement online and I see a charge for fbi pending. So that means they are working on it or they are done working on it and they emailed it already?

your results will be MAILED to you, not emailed.

I am sorry thats what I meant. Mailed.
Days listed for processing are business days so weekends and holidays are not included.

From 4 posts prior:
...the processing time is currently 25
calendar days...
I am having the results to be mailed to my husband's address in canada. So I should be getting something in the next 2-3 weeks?
