I just received an email from CPC asking for my passport (Outland application -> Vienna). I am a German citizen currently residing in Canada on a Working Holiday visa. In the PDF it says I can also send my passport to Ottawa because I already live in Canada. Can I just send it to Ottawa or do I need to inform Vienna first and have them transfer my files to Ottawa?
Also: Because we did not expect to hear back from CIC so quickly (filed out application mid-September) we booked a vacation for christmas. They ask for my passport within 30 days. Is it possible to expedite or postpone the mailing?
30-12-2014 , then again 13-02-2015 (DM 03-01-2015, PP&CoPR received 06-01-2015, returned to Ottawa because of a mistake, received again on 16-02-2015)
Hi! I got the same e-mail two days ago. Same thing, I go through Vienna. As I understand, just send the passport to Ottawa, BUT make sure that you inform Vienna of your current mailing address in Canada, if you hadn't done so already, because they will send your passport back to your mailing address.

Oh yeah, and inform Vienna that you are sending your passport to Ottawa (you have that in your e-mail):
"If you and all the accompanying dependents on your application are currently in Canada and plan to be in Canada for at least three months, you may submit your passport(s) to the Case Processing Centre – Ottawa (“CPC-O”). Please inform our office and follow these additional procedures..."

Weird. Mine only says "You are required to send your passport(s) together along with a copy of this letter by mail or courier to the following address."

Wow, you applied in September? I went through Vienna as well. German in Canada on working Holiday and Young Professional visa. Took me 12 months. I wished they would have processed mine also in Ottawa
