COVID-19 and Passport Submission

Issue: Possibility of missing the deadline of passport submission due to COVID-19.


Hi all,

This is regarding a pending visa application.

March 6, 2020 - The applicant received a letter from the IRCC informing him that he needs to send his passport within 30 days.

March 16, 2020 - Applicant sent his passport (including required forms and manager's cheque for payment of fees) to VFS/VAC through a private courier.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the city of origin and destination of the package are placed on lockdown. Thus, making it impossible for the delivery. The private courier company has since suspended their operations.

The 30-day deadline to submit the passport to the IRCC is fast approaching. Failure to submit the passport could result in the refusal of the application.

Any thoughts on this case?

They don't seem to realize problems faced by applicants and sponsors during Covid 19.
They should not give 30 days when applicant is living in a Curfew state . AND they claim that they keep a close watch on present situation like COVID 19 pandemic ! I would send a message about all that it is impossible to submit things time to submit may please be extended to 6 months.
PHONE Agents: Some of them looking answers from clients as per my experience. They dont even know what's in the forms for a sponsor. Read my other post please.
