I am a citizen of India with Indian passport issued in San Francisco, USA.
I just got my COPR letter with my passport back from Ottawa.
In the COPR under personal details, it says "Country of Issue" is "United States of America". However, I thought the country of issue should be "India"
Is this ok for landing? Does this get corrected at the Port of entry? Anyone else faced this issue?
For passport, country of citizenship is the authoritative country of issue, in this case India. Place of issue would be San Francisco. I think you should contact them for clarification.
My COPR reads the same as yours. I was told that since the place of issue of your Indian passport is SF, the country of issuance of travel document is USA (this information was shared by a person I spoke to in the Consulate General of Canada in Chicago. )
I am trying to not think much about it. Did you change your COPR information?
