COST OF STUDYING IN CANADA

Hi there. I'm from Poland, finishing my high school and I'm seriously thinking about studying in Canada. I need really solid info about all cost standing ahead, cause my parents are really consirned about if they can afford it. Someone who's been/still going through it please tell me how much will graduate education cost for medical/vet studies, or something alike. How big are prices of accommodation at campus and overall living cost (food, transport, ect.). And finally is there any finacial aid, that provides help for international students (especially those who are willing to become a permanent resident of Canada after graduation)? I'd appreciate any useful info, I've searched many webs but things are really chaotic and my time for convincing is running out. Thank's in advance.

You're looking at a 4 year university degree at a minimum. For a good university, you're probably looking at around $25K per year tuition - then you'll need an additional $10K per year for living expenses (although some students certainly live on less than that).

Assume you will have to pay all of the costs yourself and there will be no funding available. (FYI - Almost all international students want to become PRs after graduation - so that really doesn't differentiate you from anyone else.)

Well, how about working at campus or somewhere outside? Does students visa allow to work anywhere else than campus? And how much of those costs I can cover by working in the meantime?

Yes - you can work off campus for up to 20 hours per week during your studies. You can expect to make minimum wage (around $10/hour before tax). Keep in mind that there's never a guarantee that you will find a job immediately or that you'll be able to work the full 20 hours per week (it's quite possible your course load might be too heavy). At best, your off campus work may cover some of your living expenses.
