Kindly advice as I am 35 yrs old divorced and dependent on my parents .my brother is having convocation ceremony in May 2018 and send the university invitation letter mentioning my and my parents name.

Since you're 35, you will want to demonstrate that you have your own ties to your home country (employment, property ownership, etc.). If you simply say you are dependent on your parents, the visa will likely be refused.
