My (Canadian citizen) girlfriend (Indonesian citizen) and I have been together (LDR) for a bit over a year and a half now.

I'm usually a student/part time worker in Canada. It has now been 2 months that I am studying in Indonesia and that we live together. I'Il stay here for another 9-10 months (but not exactly a full year).

From my understanding we would qualify for conjugal sponsorship as it doesn't have any financial requirements. Would that 11+ months period of living together make us eligible for the sponsorship or do we need to live together for exactly 12 months?

We plan on marrying but due to different religions, we cannot do so in Indonesia. I believe it helps our case as well?

Thank you very much!

We have plans to marry

Conjugal requires you to have real immigration barriers that prevent you from getting married or living together for a year to become common law. What is your barrier to marriage? Can you remain in Indonesia and live together for a full year to become common law?

I updated the main post to add the immigration barrier.

Technically I have a 1 year (364 days) visa and I can definitely stay for the whole duration or do a visa run to make sure everything is kosher :D

Have you looked into visiting a neighbouring country (such as Thailand) and getting married there? Has your girlfriend tried applying for a TRV so that you can get married in Canada?

Conjugal requires proof of real immigration barriers which may be hard to prove in your case. If at all possible, you should get married or live together for at least a full year to become common law before you apply.
