American male, I’ve been dating a Canadian permanent resident for 2 years (with lots of pictures and messages between us). I’ve seen conflicting reports on how difficult conjugal PR sponsorship is as there’s really nothing keeping us from getting married other than we’re trying to do it one ate at a time me get pr, then a job, then get married). Anyone have any insight? I’ve read if there’s nothing keeping us from marrying or becoming common law (couldn’t find work in Canada to live together) that it’s nearly impossible to be approved

as there are no immigration or legal barriers keeping you from getting married, you will not qualify for conjugal. you will need to get married or qualify as common law somehow. you can then apply for PR... otherwise, there is no way around it
