I have a question about work experience. Just wanted to confirm if I can show 3 years work experience with the following situation.
Before I did my master's course I worked for a year as a trainee in marketing. After 2 years of my masters degree I worked for 1 year with one company followed by 3 months of stint with a friend at his company and after which I worked for 4 months as Assistant Marketing Manager, finally now at another company since 4 months. Between my 2nd, 3rd and 4th job there isn't any break.
My question is does any work experience before my masters counts as a work ex if it is a trainee job for in the similar department i.e. Marketing. The only difference here is that the 1 year work experience is without the degree.
Can I still qualify to write 3 years of experience?

Great. But if I was paid in cash and have no bank statement for the same. Does that count? It was a family friends business hence I was paid in cash. Would that be an issue?

Probably not.
CIC generally doesn't ask for proof of payment (pay slips, etc.), but if they have doubts about the validity of your claim, they can request further proof.

I too have a similar question. I did Bachelors of Engineering in IT then worked in the same company for 33 months. I then went on to do an MBA (for 2 years). Post my MBA, I have been working for 1 year.
Question - While creating my profile, can i claim a total experience of 4 years or will it be considered as 1 year ?

Both my experiences (pre-MBA and post-MBA) have been full time paid jobs. However, the job before MBA was IT related (Server Administration) while the one now is a little different (Technology Consulting)
Does this still mean I can claim 4 years experience ?

@Istari- In that case if they ask for further proofs, stating that was being paid in cash will count? Even if it is on the employers letter head.
Have you come across any such case?
