Hi guys i really need your help on this. I'm waiting for passport request, as my address has changed, i wrote to beijing office via their official email to update my mailing address.
I got their reply as below:
---------------------
Dear Sir/Madam,

If you would like to make a change of address on your application form, you are advised to provide the documents listed below by regular mail. This is to ensure the consistency of information on your application form regarding your mailing address.

- Updated application form IMM 0008 (02-2012)E Generic,

- Completed courier waybill for return of documents,

- Updated use of representative form (IMM5476E) if you have an agent,

Please understand that we cannot confirm receipt of every mail received. Please confirm with the postal office regarding the delivery of your package.

The CIC e-client status information will not reflect any address changes made after the initial creation of your file. Please be advised that the Beijing Office will take note of any address changes made after the initial creation and will address all correspondence accordingly.
----------------------------------------------------------
My questions are:
1. "you are advised to", does that mean a must? as they ask for new IMM008 there are two concerns of mine, first my hubby is in canada and im in beijing, the distance makes it difficult to sign the form, second assuming i send in the new form, would that make our application lose the position in queue for processing and have to queue again?
2. If i dont send in these paperwork, would that mean our address is updated with them or not?
really confused....please help guys, many thanks!

The imm008 is for you, so you won't have to send it for your husband to sign. It is an applicant form, not s sponsor form.

If you're advised by cic to send in these things, I wouldn't take it as a choice. To get things moving, send them ASAP.

thank you for reminding, i mistakenly thought it was IMM1344. I think my real question is how does visa office send passport request? As in my original application i filled my email, would that make the request only get to me via email? As my biggest concern is the request will be sent via regular mail, without tracking numbers.. then i may not be able to find it with my outdated address. This is the only reason that i thought about updating my address with them.
If i send in the form i do worry my application will lose current position in the queue waiting for process. As i got AR2 from beijing 2 months ago. i really dont want the past two months time waste : (
