Note: As of February 6, 2012, sponsors and applicants for Permanent Residence are asked to complete both the new Application to sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking (IMM 1344) form and the Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008). Sponsors and applicants are encouraged to complete the forms electronically and validate the information to generate 2D barcodes before printing. To ensure you have the most recent application forms, please use the link to the application forms.

Older versions of sponsorship application forms will still be accepted, but only until March 31, 2012.

we did stopped completing those 2 forms bcoz of confusion...for the IMM0008,questions were for applicant and the IMM 1344,questions were for the sponsor and we are asked to complete these two? can anyone pls clarify this?

Yes Do the two new forms IMM 1344 was uploaded in Feb.
We did the new IMM0008 and old IMM 1344, first but then when they uploaded IMM 1344 we redid it. The updated forms are intelligent forms (in the sense it will not display unnecessary pages)

The principal applicant completes IMM0008 and the sponsor completes IMM1344. Use the newest forms and check the cic website before sending your application to ensure you have all the latest forms. There is also a new document checklist for the sponsor (IMM5491).

The principal applicant should fill IMM0008
IMM 1344 should be filled by both or the sponsor and signed by applicants. This is an agreement.
Check CIC site for updates and re-read it as they constantly change, update forms, ...

IMM1344 is mostly for the sponsor, but yes, both need to sign it. The principal applicant fills IMM008. Don't be confused, OP.

Thank you guys! we completed all the forms since mid of april and i am even done with my medicals yet there is still one lacking which is the letter of my husband's sister...i thought she made it last week and sent it off but when we called her today she said shes been too busy!really stressful since i also feel bad asking her to do it urgently. we were supposed to send up our application by then but oh well..i dont know how many days will it arrive via priority post since shes in Newfoundland..***sigh**

Hello guys again!

I would like to ask you a question please. I’m sponsoring my spouse in order for us to move to Canada, more specifically Quebec. In the application form IMM 0008 that has to be filled out by my husband – the principal applicant, they are asking if he has received his Certficat de Selection du Quebec. The answer is no. However, he has never applied for it so he can’t enter any date. And the thing is that the date has to be filled out. So what should he put? He can't apply for the certificate at this moment, it will only be done after we recieve the acceptance letter from CIC.

Also, my husband’s English isn’t good enough yet for him to fill out his application forms. Can I, as his sponsor, be his representative and fill out everything on his behalf?
