Conference Visa Requirment

Please I need your help urgently. I was denied a Canadian study visa June 2018 and the only reason stated was purpose of visit. I made another online application August 2018 but after a few weeks, I sent an email for a cancellation of my application because I didn’t want to continue with it as I had just gotten an admission into an Irish university to study a new program which I prefer.

I have been in Ireland studying since Jan 2019 and just rounding up with my first semester exams. I plan on attending a conference scheduled to hold in Canada in July. This conference is directly related to my course of study. It is such a coincidence that it is to be held in Canada as the last one was in the US.

I wish to begin my visa application, please what are my chances.

I’m from Nigeria, 2 years valid UK visa, I have been to the UK, France, Germany, Turkey within the past 4 years. I am still employed in my home country, as I am currently on study leave. I am single

I'd say you have a decent shot. A single rejection last year will not weigh too heavily on your new application, especially since you've since been studying in Europe.

Is the conference at a large Canadian university? Will they send you a letter of invitation? That will make it even easier.
