Received the following email from CIO:
"Please re-submit your RCMP criminal record check based on fingerprints with the photo as your previous one did not have the photo on it".
Before submitting my PNP application to CIO, I applied for the RCMP certificate with finger prints and my photo. But the certificate from the RCMP did not have any photo on it.
Now CIO wants photo on the certificate and I am really confused.
It will be greatly appreciated if anyone who has gone through this could throw some light on this please.
When Did you submit your application? I just submitted mine @ CIO office last Dec. 19 and no AOR yet? RCMP just gave me a criminal record check without asking for any photos and fingerprints. I just handed out to them my Alberta ID. Just wondering why they ask for it with a photo and fingerprint?? Since when i got mine the police officer didnt asked me to bring one even tho they know it is for immigration purpose. (

I may be applying for the police certificate from RCMP soon, since you mentioned that the CIO is asking for it with the photograph, could you please update us in case you found the process for the same.
Why would they even ask for a RCMP clearance? I thought you'd only need police clearances from any country you lived in longer than 6 months, excluding Canada. When did that change and did they request RCMP clearance along with your other criminal record checks?

Good to know, for some reason I've been under the impression that CIC would do their own background checks.
Can you obtain the RCMP clearance at any police station?

This is what I'm following: http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cr-cj/fing-empr2-eng.htm The only thing I'm worried about is where to affix the photograph? Would the RCMP even accept it... Need someone who has gone through this process to throw some light on it.
