I am married to my husband and about to sponsor him in few days.
Before our marriage my husband got detained as he missed receiving a letter from CBSA after moving to another place.
He got released by a bond person. He has a condition on his release that he has to live with his bond person all the time.
We went to CBSA requesting them to allow him change address and let him live with his wife.
They told us we have to fax immigration division. Although we have sent a fax to immigration division. But we are waiting for their response. Its been 4 business days now. We have not heard from them so far.
My question is do CBSA check randomly if the person is living with bond person. Is it ok for my husband to spent nights with me till he gets his address change. My husband is currently out of status after (PRAA got rejected) as his passport has expired.
Please help. Its always helpful to come to this site and post question . People are so helpful around here.
Thanks
He needs to continue living with the bond person. That's a specific condition of his release. He should under no circumstances violate the conditions of his release unless he receives approval from the immigration division. If he does violate the conditions of his release, he will likely find himself back in custody or possibly headed home. Don't mess around with this. It's a serious matter. So no - not OK to spend a few night with you a week. Again, he needs to follow the conditions of his bond.

I agree, him spending nights with you would be a violation of his release. If you want to be able to sponsor him and eventually fix everything, do not let him violate any of his conditions. If they do not respond in a few days, send another fax. Patience and cooperation are going to be necessary for you two to get through this. I wish you the best of luck!
