I am currently in awaiting for my PPR. Expecting somewhere in June-July.
I have a query about importing of Car. I have a US Export Lexus (2011 manufacture) here in Oman.
Is it possible to import US Export vehicle from Oman to Canada?
If yes, what is the procedure and duties involved.
Main reason I am considering importing is I will lose big margin while I sell it here and will have to spend even more in Canada for buying a new one.
Checked RIV website, but could not get specific information.

Hi I am from Oman too. To import a car into Canada it must with their motor vehicle standards. If your Lexus was manufactured to meet US standards then there might be a chance to import but if it is a GCC specification- I am afraid you might not be able to import it.
I am based out of Oman and received AOR in march. Are you still in Oman, it will be nice to catch up with you.

You will need to provide a letter from Lexus USA that any and all recalls on the car have been performed. This may be difficult to acquire as the vehicle has been exported from the US to a third country. Despite being a US spec car, exporting it to Oman may cause you significant issues in bringing it to Canada, particularly if it was not built in North America (Japanese manufactured US spec).
