I have a question regarding how to correctly complete the online receipt for spousal sponsorship. Specifically, I'm wondering whether the name/date of birth/client ID/address etc. should be that of my husband (sponsor) or myself (applicant for PR).
I am applying outland via London for spousal sponsorship for PR. My husband is currently in Canada. My application is pretty much ready to go, and my husband has paid the fees through CIC's online service, paying for the following items: sponsorship application ($75); principal applicant ($475); and the Right of Permanent Residence Fee ($490).
Does anyone know whether the information filled out on the official receipt (name, dob, address etc.) should be that of the sponsor or that of the principal applicant? I feel like this is one of those things that could be so easy to get wrong, and I can't tell from the online instructions :/
We've written the sponsor's name and details and had no problem. We based the decision on the fact that the sponsor's processing is done first and that usually the VO asks the sponsor to pay the RPRF at the end of the principal applicant's processing, if it's not paid upfront.
I know this already got answered but that is what I did too - I am the sponsor and I paid the fees so I just put my info in there and left the Client ID box blank because I do not have a number (am a natural born Canadian Citizen)
That is definitely not true. I know people that had payed with some relative's or friend's credit card, because they only had Visa Electron and that was not accepted. It would have meant that they should have put the name of that friend or relative on the receipt
Thanks, all, for your help. I've put my spouse/sponsor's information, as advised by several posters above.
I've also just noticed, in going through the Document Checklist for the final time (about to submit!), that the "copy of your receipt" entry is listed as item 4 under "Sponsor," not under "Sponsored person and family members." This seems to further corroborate the advice above that the sponsor should be named on the receipt.
