Hi! Currently I am working in company owned by three gentlemen, now by the end of the month they will end their partnership and will go on separate ways. One of them will still take me as his employee but he will change his company name. He bought more than half of the share so there will be no changes in work and location just the company name. My work permit is listed as I am working for Company A but since my boss will change the name of the company to Company B, will I need to apply for new LMO for a work permit or just call CIC and tell them to change my company name? I just had my work permit for company A last week and valid till 2016. My title will be the same and everything just the company name...
Please tell me what to do... Should I ask my boss to apply me a new LMO or what?
I think you should apply for a new work permit. If you have a HR / immigration department in your company, consult them. They will be able to help you.
Depends on the status of the company. Did they dissolve the corporation/partnership, or did your boss simply bought-out the other owners but maintaining the same legal identity (except for the name)?
If it's the former, then it's really a new entity and you may have to re-apply
