Once you have lived together a year you are common law.

In that year , what if one partner cheated on other and they was no more in conjugal relationship for some months but came back again , is it still common law

Hi All, I have a question. I want to sponsor my boyfriend who is living with me in Canada since 2022. He is currently studying and I am a PR holder. Please suggest what is the process to sponsor him. He got married but living separately for 6 years, not divorced on paper. No family or court issues. his wife has been estranged for 6 years. Is he eligible to be sponsored under common law in BC, Canada. Your guidance is highly appreciated.

Can anyone help in telling what sort of documents we need to show that we are in common law partner relationship?

I need to verify this as well because my ex (Canadian citizen) moved in with me and started using my address. However, he was still going back and forth between my address and his. We also broke up 3 times for short periods during relationship. When I was renewing my work visa I listed him as common law. We had broken up permanently before I became a PR through CEC. Now I want to apply for citizenship and realized I cant list him as previous common law because the break in the relationship during the one year voided the common law status. I just need to know if this will be considered misrepresentation as it was an honest mistake.
