My partner is applying to sponsor me to canada. We lived together for 365 days from may 1st 2013 when i arrived in Canada until April 30th, 2014. this was the 365 day one year visa that immigration gave me for my working holiday visa at the border in vancouver. on the 365th day we saw a commisioner of oaths and had our common law form for the application signed and stamped saying that we had lived in a relationship continously for one year.
however i have seen online some people saying that it 1 year from may 1st 2013 would be may 1st 2014... if this were the case then wouldnt that be one year and one day? and why did my working holiday visa which was valid for one year give my date to leave at april 30th?

Yes you and your partner are indeed Common-Law and you can apply for Family Sponsorship right now. Make sure you file as Common-Law in your tax return for 2013.
Yes it is, gather all the documents that you can prove that you are indeed Common-Law like lease agreement, joint bank statement( I sent a proof of shared finances since we don't have joint account, I usually sent money through online banking. I just printed all the receipts and submitted it with my application, statutory declaration from atleast 2 people, that have the good knowledge about your relationship with your partner, CRA declared as Common-Law and also any insurance ( you as a beneficiary) joint credit card statement, proof of the Same address. There are plenty of documents to gather, so start it right now
