My partner and I will be common law in August of this year. We would like to apply for PR as soon as the one year mark hits. Is it ok to have the police certificates and any letters etc. ready before this date, or does all documentation have to be initiated after the official start of common-law status? Appreciate any help.
If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. Also, would there be any issue with my common-law spouse travelling without me after the PR application is sent? She would like to visit family for about a month and I won't be able to get that much time off from work.

Will you have solid common-law proofs from day 1 to day 365?
You can get PCCs ahead of time. If you are referring to family/friend letters that confirm you are common-law, technically, they should be signed after you are actually common-law.

It’s just one part of the proof to show that we take trips together in the times we’ve been out of the country. We’ll also be signing the common law declaration. Thank you for your help
