Hello! I would like some advice on common-law spousal sponsorship from a UK applicant (me) to a Canadian citizen (my partner) I came here on a international experience Canada visa dated October 13, 2016 my visa runs out in 13 days I have used a representative to apply my application for sponsorship we have been in a relationship for more than a year been living with each other for more than a year but still my representative has not sent off the paperwork yet and I am becoming worried they say that it will be fine as long as they send it before the 13th when my visa expires. Will this be a problem? I understand once they receive it I get the 90 days to hear back about my owp but if I don’t then do I have to leave? Will I have to leave if they haven’t sent off my application by the 13th?
Sounds like it's time to ditch your representative.
In addition to the PR application, apply to change your status to visitor. This will allow you to remain in Canada after your IEC expires - although you'll need to stop working as soon as the IEC expires.
I paid a lot of money for this help and I feel like it’s gonna be to late. I emailed and called today to see if they have sent it off but they didn’t respond. If they send it off by next week will immigration receive it in time or shall I look for a flight home. If I change it to a vistor I’ve heard that I can’t apply for an extension on my current open work visa..?
