I dont know what to put in Entry date of common-law are in the application?

My situation a bit confused as my boyfriend(Canadian citizen) moved in with me in Niagara during my school in September 2021-2023 (2years) but he didnt changed his home address on any ID or banking details. The rent paper also not properly from my landlord as we only signed for 2021-2022 and after that my landlord didn’t let me sign other papers so I don’t have proof of living in the address. We have a gap of 8 months after I graduated my school as he moved back to his house in Milton and I still lived in Niagara. After that in Jan 2024 I moved in with him in Milton until now.

We been dating for 5 years and live together for 3 years if you counted Niagara address however I dont have enough proof to show.

My question is Should I enter that dat of January 2024 when I move in with him until now (a year something)? In the common law sponsorship application. Or I should say the date from when he moved with me in Niagara 2021 even though I don’t have proof.

The only absolutely critical thing is that you have lived together more than 12 months. For ease of processing and confirmation, my personal suggestion would be to put your date of residing together as Jan 2024 (assuming you are still residing together now), and document that well. In other words, as long as you ahve those 12 months, the rest is not critical anyway.

Then in a separate letter of explanation, explain that you lived together off and on for the following periods (list) but that as students in various accommodation, you do not have good documentation of that. Provide what you can for those periods (pictures, letters from friends, whatever). That should be enough and the times before that will support your relationship.
