Common Law Sponsorship Processing Times

Hi there! I am at the early stages of submitting an application to sponsor my common law partner. He currently lives in Scotland. I checked the government of Canada processing times and it said it takes up to 12 months. I’m wondering in general do applications take the full 12 months or is can it be done quicker? Also what are the chances of it being approved if we fill in all the information correctly and provide all needed proof? Thanks in advance.

If you have all the information and provide all needed proof, and he's not a criminal or a security risk, or a public health risk, it should not be refused.
